VENICE DESIGN > HISTORY

Venice Design was founded in 1976 to create the furnishings and decor of the Italian Room at the Palais Berlaimont in Brussels, designed for the E.E.C. by the architect Piero Mainardis de Campo.

In 1986 Venice Design decided to open in Venice, exhibiting sculpture, painting, graphic work and design, first at San Samuele and later in 1990 at a second gallery in calle Vallaresso.

In addition to continuing its activity in the fields of restoration, decoration and interior design, Venice Design has organized over one hundred exhibitions of leading modern and contemporary artists. Aside from great masters, the galleries also hold exhibitions of young talents from all over the world.

Venice Design has collaborated with cultural and diplomatic institutions such as UNESCO, the American Embassy, the French Embassy, the British Council, the Rayburn Foundation of New York, la Fondazione Querini Stampaia, the Herbert von Karajan Centrum Wien, etc.
